Fall Seminars

In addition to their regular schedule of classes, the students at the Center for Biblical Training enjoyed two special seminars this fall.

Tim Mastenbrook went to Haiti in two roles:

As HCF Academic Director, he met with the directors and all instuctors.

He taught a week-long seminar on the Holy Spirit to the preaching students.  He was impressed with the students’ positive response to scripture, even when it stood contrary to Haitian culture.

Chad Garrett taught a seminar on the book of Romans in November.

At the end of the class, Chad had students preach from a passage in Romans.  Here’s an example:

Raymond delivered his sermon from the Romans seminar “Why don’t we work to please God?”  The purpose was to encourage Christians to use their gifts for God. His text was from Romans 12:6.

His three points were:  1. Let us do what God asks. 2. Humble yourself before God and He will lift you up. 3. Use the gifts God has given you.
